Hugs, high fives, and fist pumps to all of you rock-stars in Ohio (I had a great many nights in that state) Puttin Bay (Spelling?), The Inn at Honey Run and of course (since my volume goes and stays on 11.) The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. You could be living in worse places on earth. Jobs there.. Dunno – hope you both can score great ones.

Chin up! You have your family (What about those with none?) You have your kids, and each other. Living on less is actually better and that's no shit.
At least people are talking about all this with us now, Washington is scared too (And good for them) – Many will lose jobs, politicians included. The shit done hit the fan. When they all lose there jobs, we will see if they march with us. (The will probably be the first in line)

Just came across another problem though… it seems that I'm having problems starting kmix after using kquitapp to shut it down.

My new script looks a little more brutal but it seems to work better:
killall kmix ; KMIX_PULSEAUDIO_DISABLE=1 kmix

@Bob: this means that kmix wasn't running when the first part was run ("kquitapp kmix"). This results in kquitapp to give a non-zero return value and the && in the line basically means "don't run the second command unless the first one succeeds".

I don't know if there is any well thought out reason for not running the second command if the first one fails but changing the && to a semicolon (;) should work fine. In that case, if kmix isn't running, the script will not fail alltogether, but will continue on and start kmix (with the pulseaudio fix).

So to recap, the command I'm using looks like this:
kquitapp kmix ; KMIX_PULSEAUDIO_DISABLE=1 kmix

Didn't work for me as user or root. ;( Also I clicked "hide menubar". What a useless feature…
